Throughout the whole story the main character Ponyboy along with many of his friends face a lot of problems that deal mostly with the fights and constant rivalry with the Socs. In the novel Ponyboy also has to deal with the death of his best friend Johnny who dies from the church fire, and then the death of another one of his friends Dally who was shot and killed by police. In my opinion these deaths and the death of one of the Socs actually in a way helped solve the problem as it started to make Ponyboy realize that the Socs were not that different and that there didn't always need to be fighting in between the two groups. Some of the Socs realized this too when their friend was killed by Johnny, both groups didn't want to lose anymore of their friends. Another problem Ponyboy also faces is his constant fighting with his brother Darry, but they also resolve this problem, him Darry and Sodapop all come together when the court decides that Ponyboy can stay with Darry and Sodapop and not have to go to a home.
In the end after Johnnys death, Dally goes out with a unloaded gun and robs a store and then is cornered by police who shoot and kill him, do you think that was the right thing to do?
I do not think this is the right thing to do. Although what he did was bad, I don't believe he should die for what he did in this situation. They should have thought of a better way to make things better.
ReplyDeleteNo it isn't the right thing to do because they could have just thrown him in jail rather than kill him.
